Social Work Programmes Coordinator


A non-profit organisation in Johannesburg is searching for a Social Work Programmes Coordinator with relevant education, experience and credentials to coordinate the organisation’s social work and development programmes.   

Responsibilities of the selected candidate will include:

  • Undertake programme planning in line with the stated mandate and envisaged outputs and outcomes;  
  • Coordinate the implementation of the organisation’s Programmes; 
  • Ensure alignment of the organisation’s Programmes with relevant legislations and policies; 
  • Develop and implement programme procedures and policies; 
  • Supervise programme staff;
  • Develop a programme Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) framework, and oversee the M&E function;
  • Train programme staff so as increase their efficiency and effectiveness;
  • Coordinate and promote comprehensive stakeholder interaction to enhance programme outputs. 


  • A relevant tertiary level qualification, or any other relevant qualification;
  • Extensive experience within the Social Work and/or Social Development/Welfare sectors (a minimum of 5 years);
  • Proven management/coordination experience;
  • Excellent coordination and management skills;
  • Fluent in an African Language and English;
  • Excellent command of the English Language, with an emphasis on writing ability;
  • A valid South African Identification document;
  • A South African driver’s license;
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Must be willing to work overtime, where necessary.
